Entries for the penultimate round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy, World RX of Turkey, have revealed 20 Supercar entries plus 10 cars in the supporting RX Lites Cup.
Two of the biggest stars competing in Turkey will be American duo Ken Block and Tanner Foust. Gymkhana star Block will drive his Hoonigan Racing Ford Fiesta for the third time in World RX this year, while USA Top Gear presenter Foust will compete as a wildcard entry with Ford Olsbergs MSE.
Other notable entries include the first father and son duo in World RX for British-based team Albatec Racing. Team owner and permanent driver Andy Scott will be joined by his 27-year-old son Marc in the second Peugeot 208 Supercar. Marc Scott will replace former F1 Champion Jacques Villeneuve who will skip the Turkish RX round due to TV commitments.
“I’m incredibly excited about making my World RX debut, at the brand new Intercity Istanbul Park track alongside my dad, and can’t thank him enough for the opportunity,” explained Scott Jr. “We’ve had two very successful seasons in RX150, and now feel the time is right to make the step up to the Supercar class.”
EKS RX will field two cars in Turkey driven by former WRC star PG Andersson and GT driver Edward Sandstrom. Joining newly-turned World Champion Petter Solberg in a second PSRX-run car is Sten Oja who drove with Solberg at World RX of Canada earlier this year.
