After his first full season rumors has started that Kubica will not compete in WRC because he will return circuits instead of stages. Polish driver has explained today that he will compete full season in WRC with his sponsor LOTOS again in Fiesta RS WRC. His codriver will be Maciek Szczepaniak in first rally of season Monte Carlo. Only M-Sport is missing in his operation, he told that it will be clarified soon.
Kubica admits that he was considering a return to circuits but after his analyses he decided to continue in WRC.
“It took me a long time to make this decision, but there was no pressure at all. I wanted to be sure about it and I did not want to rush. There will be some more new things to come, but I will announce them later.â€
A statement from Kubica’s management team read: “Robert and Maciek know all thirteen World Championship rounds. However, they approach this challenge with humility, aiming for consistency and gaining further experience – which will be crucial to confirm their abilities, already shown in their first full season in the most demanding rallies in the world.â€
Kubica’s first competitive outing in 2015 will be at Rallye Monte-Carlo (22-25 January), the event he led this year on his debut in the Fiesta RS alongside Szczepaniak.
