Sebastien Ogier wins Monte Carlo Rally 2015 over team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala by just 58 seconds. After four days of rallying Frenchman won rally in homesoil. Ogier was kept in stress when Loeb pushed hard at first day of rally. But when Loeb dropped from start list Ogier relieved and put some distance with gas pedal.
This victory means a lot for Ogier, it is so close to his home town and it is first rally of season. “It’s a huge challenge but the satisfaction is even more when you make it. Conditions were so tricky this year, but it has been the best atmosphere of a rally I have ever known”
The man who is on second place, Latvala, hasn’t won any stage in 15 stages of rally. But he is happy with this result, anyway. ” I’m delighted. This is much more than I expected, before the rally I was thinking fourth or fifth. I must thank my ice crew for their information.”
There was a unlucky boy named Loeb started rally as he was 2012, or 2013. He pushed so hard at the very first stages. DS3 WRC’s engine may be the same with WTCC car the sense is not the same as Loeb experienced on left side of DS3 WRC. He added some action and gave some panic signal to VW service area, that’s it.
Off course main action came from Poland with Kubica. He won 4 stages in rally and made 3 crashes in same rally. Even his sponsor Lotos gave up and cut his budget, but this is not enough for him eventually. Hope to see him in Sweden.
M-Sport’s young guns showed their potential, but rally-fans expect more from them. But it is promising performance for M-Sport after Hirvonen’s last year performance.
Hyundai boys Neuville and Sordo raced against each other. Power Stage advantage made Neuville 5th of rally. Sordo is 6th.
Quentin Gilbert won Junior clas with Citroen DS3 R3 Max. In 2015, 10 junior drivers attend rallies under Citroen tent.
Season’s second race will be organised in Sweden, between 12th and 15th February. Action will continue on snow in Sweden.
